スコットランド出身のファッション・スタイリストであるジョー・マッケンナが制作した写真集『Joe"s: First Issue』。グラスゴーの近郊カーキンティロックで生まれたマッケンナは、少年時代からファッションに強い関心を持ち、9歳の頃には窓をミラーがわりにコートを見立て、コーディネートを研究していたという生粋のファッショニスタ。16歳でロンドンへ、後にニューヨークに渡り、『Vanity Fair』等で活躍した後フリーに。代表作であるアズディン・アライアのスタイリングや、巨匠ブルース・ウェーバーとの協働によるカルバン・クラインのイメージ・ビジュアルなどが記憶に新しい。最近では、マッケンナ初の映像作品としてアライアのドキュメンタリーをリリースしています。本書は、1992年にマッケンナのプロデュースによって刊行されたビジュアル・ブックで、1998年のSecond Issueで打ち止めとなった伝説の一冊。Steven Meisel、Paolo Roversi、Bruce Weberら錚々たる面々の厳選に厳選が重ねられた図版で構成されています。
